Matt Lyons began computer consulting in 1988 by creating a job
tracking and invoice program in VPInfo for his employer. In 1990 the
program was migrated into dBase IV and expanded to include customer
and inventory modules. In 1994 the entire program was converted into
Microsoft Access with even more improvements and is still used to
this day.
Lyons Communications was officially formed in 1996 as an
Internet and database development consulting resource for small to
medium sized businesses. While developing web sites and database
solutions, Matt also developed custom shopping cart solutions with
online catalog integration. Other projects included are a
multi-media CD presentation builder, personal web site builder,
business web site builder, online education, online course/class
signup system, products/inventory catalog system, customer
management and back end administration systems. Some systems track
sales for direct sales and/or multi-level affiliate commissions for
multi-level marketing. Since 2002 Matt has worked as an independent
consultant creating E-commerce solutions, "back offices" and
generally making the Internet work for the user as well as the
website owner.
